    But she was looking the other way round the world using the common viewpoint that GMT is the central point and there is a virtual barrier (or imaginary temporal fault line?) at the international date line in the middle of the Pacific!

    Erm, no.

    I meant that I knew what she meant, but what she meant didn’t actually have any effect on what she said. She tried to do a “pole to pole” type comparison using extreme left and extreme right of a flat globe. And looked like a pillock who didn’t know the globe joined up round the back.
